Being a kid in the 70s/80s we had a coulple of cars with louvers. I can tell you that they suck in actual function and this is the reason they died, not just the looks.
First off they create horrible blind spots. Worse than too dark of tint at night. At least with tint you can see headlights and such.
Secondly. They trap all sorts of dirt and crap under them. Most have a quick release type set up to lift them up to clean under them but then you have to clean teh enou re and the glass. Gets even worse when you get snow or ice on them.
Third, they get noisy, squeak, rattle, wind noise, etc.
Kinds retro cool in a way but not very functional. If you want better sun protection without stupid dark tint there are very modern heat reduction films available that keep heat down without being very dark.

I'm happy with the way it is, but if I were to go louvers, this is the way, also the only body kit I ever liked for the 928 (this exact car)

Resurrecting this thread for the sake of playing "Devil's Advocate" if for no other reason.........to give an example of what it COULD look like......even if it's on a scaled 80's era model.

This is a hilarious thread.
Actually, those louvers don't look half bad... at least they would match my shark fin.
