Default has anybody looked into rx7 side skirts and or bodykits?

was browsing online and came across rx7 body kits. i am mainly interested in the side skirts to start. i know some extra work is needed to fit, but for 125 to 300 i could have a lot more different options. side skirts rear/front bumbers-with modification of course. but there are so many options compared to ours. 600 plus for porsche side skirts is crazy and they don't even look that good for the price

With the 3 1/2 inch difference in wheelbase you might be a bit short. Nothing a gallon or so of Bondo could not "fix" .

The wheelbase may be shorter, but depending on the wheel opening size, (modern cars generally run larger wheels and tires...) it might just make it. If it is short, a little fiberglass or sheet metal insert will work much better than a gallon of bondo...

At least you aren't installing C3 Corvette side pipes...

At least the sidepipes would sort of have a function

ok, my vision is not seen. everytime i look at the rear of my 928 it makes me think exotic and makes me see vision it on a lamborghini diablo level. then i see the side- bland- then front- almost but needs something??? its taunting me. i almost ready to start body prep and paint but i feel the need to step up. pics i posted are mostly for paint schemes. like the side skirts and rear bumper

It was drawn on paper in 1974 my friend.

It -was- exotic.

It is -still- highly recognized as the most influential car that hit the market back then, too.

If you didnt want a classic GT car, what do you want?

Im not trying to be unfair..but..you have a nice 82 euro. If you're not happy with how it catches your eye in it's original form, why remove any and all value from it (short of parting it) by making it something that it isnt?

You CAN go buy a camaro and put one of a thousand existing body kits on it...if thats the goal.

If I tried to touch the aesthetics my car would spit me out and drive over me so it behooves me to let it be.

However... we are a DIY forum and as such it is not what we do but getting support on how to do it that is the unifying factor.

Just my $.02

There isn't much value in a 928 to begin with so adding a body kit can't hurt the value. Why not use a body kit made for a 928. I have one if your interested. There are others available on the market.

Sadly, I'm yet to see a non factory kit on a car that doesn't ruin the lines

from when aftermarket bodykits go bad
