That is a really cool trick. That said I have found a Bluetooth cassette adapter to provide an excellent fidelity solution. The internal amplifier in the adapter powers the head, which transfers sound to the cassette head very well (much better than tape).

My cassette player did not work in any event and rejected the cassette as soon as I put it in. Tried the repairs below to no avail. Prefer to have the aux just hope I can have radio as well.

My Monterey does exactly what yours and his is doing, but I have yet to try this repair.
