Need HVAC Help & Some Help With Final Tweeks
I got my dash lights to work a few days ago! Yes!!!
I now have to figure out which pins in the back of the HVAC control module go where. There are about six of them I believe. I don't think I have them in the right places as when I turn the round fan ****, it does nothing. When I put the switch on from side to side, it seems to just stay on high.
I also don't think I have the vacuum lines behind it going to the right places as the metal tree which they plug into can get hot.
Speedometer is not working at all
My other mystery is that I am not sure which wires go to the clock.
My ABS warning light stays on all the time. I have to work that out.
One more thing is that my stop lamp will go on when I start the car, but will go off as soon as I hit the brakes? No bulbs are out. I replaced them all for the heck of it.
A/C compressor is in place, but looks like it has not been working in years. Belt has been removed by first owner. I want to address that at some point too. Anyone rebuild these? Alternative recommendations are welcomed. I would love to drive the car with the A/C going at some point, but I guess I am getting ahead of myself.
Gettin there...

Have you done a search for "Blower" and "ABS"? There is a lot of info already on the board for both of these issues.
The vacuum lines are color coded
If you've had the instrument cluster out to work on the dash lights I would start there looking for wire issues relating to the speedometer. If there are no problems there, look at the speed sensor wiring coming from the differential. The impulse sender for the speedometer is mounted in the diff cover.
The "Stop Lamp" light behavior is as designed .

Find one of Andrew Olsen's (user=AO) posts. He has a link to all the 928 owners manuals posted online. If you want a hard copy 928 Intl has them for $25 IIRC.
Try searching for "Magic Blower" and "ABS Fault." The Rennlist search function is the source of much consternation. Put your search terms in quotes for better results.

I did previously look up "Magic Blower", but that does not seem to fit the description as my problem is not random. I think when I had to pull the HVAC pins out to remove my center console, I did not put them back in the correct order, same goes for the vacuum lines. It would simplify things to see actual pics if possible as that above diagram is not my cup of tea...

Thanks Bill,
I pulled the console out completely to re-wire the harness. Nothing in the center console was touched by the fire at all with the exception of the plastic vent which I replaced. I thoroughly inspected everything. Everything the minor fire touched has been replaced as it only hit the wiring harness in the passenger footwell, tranny vacuum line under the car and the passenger side floormat. I was lucky to be right there with the hose to put the "Cat fire" out instantly. This is just a matter of putting these things back correctly as I pulled them out to remove the console. They sure don't give you much wiggle room...
