Default bosch plugs made in russia

Decided to replace 2 1/2 yr old plugs in my 83 ljet yesterday. It's surprising how much better the car feels. Anyway, I was suprised to see "made in Russia" stamped on the barrel! The ones I pulled said made in Brazill. They look the same but..... really? ALso the plugs i pulled looked fairly good so why new one make run with more zip. Wishful thinking or lhis common?

If the old ones visually looked good then you could have probably gotten away with regapping them and sticking them back in. Could be that the old ones were never gapped/checked and you just got used to it. Could also just be placebo effect. Weird that the Ruskies make them though, i thought Russia was still in too much of a chaotic state to actually support any global manufacturing. Plus Russia seems to have a "quantity not quality" attitude in manufacturing left over from the communism days of "produce as much crap as you can in as short a time as possible".

agree with the placebo effect maybe but, get a little chirp with 3-2 kick-down shift now. Didn't get that before. Gap .030 old and new. Plugs are cheap so put new ones in if going to all the trbl. Thanks to our northern brother..

I find Seafoam almost literally dissolves/lifts carbon build up off of spark plugs and associated parts. I did that when i was servicing my buddy's F150 (tight budget, even by my standards).

Did my comments about the Russian economy offend?? Workers of the world unite? Lol.
