What was the cranking compression of each cylinder before purchase?

Stephen,

Again, I am sorry for the problems you had with the car. I agree, mostly with Fabio and most of my close buddies priced the car between $5k and $6k. I bought under the assumption that the motor is bad and will need to be replaced, rebuilt or gone through at a minimum. I probably paid above market price, but it was the right car for me for my needs, so the extra few grand was worth it to me.

The car is now in Muncie, IN and I am making arrangements to pick it up or have it delivered in the next week or two to me here in Detroit.

I will start a new thread as soon as it is in my hands and the diagnostics and rebuild begins.

Thanks again.

I just got off the phone with DR. This phone call went better than the last. I was upset, he was upset and things went sideway's.

It takes two too arque and I have always felt that in a situation like this no one is 100 pecent right regardless of our point of view and emotional involvement.

The whole scenerio in regards to this car has been tragic. DR having to sell it for his personal reasons, myself having to sell it for my personal reasons and ED MD for selling it for his reasons

I do feel in my heart that David attempted to help me from the start and things got sideways.

We all in life have stresses and issue's, crosses to bear ect. My opinion and feelings toward a matter are different from anothers and that seems to be life.

I bashed David publicly and that was wrong of me. Regardless of our differences I was wrong to do so and I publically apologize for that.

I can say from the bottom of my heart that I wished everything had ended up differently. We are here for the love of these cars and for the love of cars in general. It seems sometimes that gets lost. I have lost both my 928's over this sad situation. I wish I could go out into my driveway and hop in a beautiful red supercharged 928 euro and go for a nice long spirited drive but I quess it's not to be for whatever the reason.

Maybe another day will come when that can become a reality! It is the loss of the dream, the 928's that makes me so sad and emotional. Maybe in years to come I will have another and the first round of beers are on me at SITM.

Life is to short to let material possesions and money cloud its way inbetween people, friends and future friends. I have much to learn and God doesn't seem like he is through with me yet as I am still here.

May the 928 gods shine upon you in the years to come!

Stephen

It's too bad that things turned out the way they did. Hopefully you'll get back in the 928 game at some point.

Believe me, many of us have been where you are now. I lost about $10K on the first Esprit that I bought. It was early in my exotic/unusual car buying experience. It was an impulse purchase from an established dealer, and so I didn't do nearly the due diligence that I should have. Come to find out, the car was blacklisted at the local Lotus dealership. They wouldn't even touch it. I sold that car six months later after having driven less than a thousand miles for a huge loss. Lesson learned, and I've been a LOT more careful ever since...

Don't be a stranger Stephen. In time the stars will line up again for you, and we'll still be here.
