Default A/C Recharged..

Ok..did my patch line for the front A/C suction line only, and capped the rear A/C for now.

At approximately the front only A/C charge level, im at about 10psi suction, and 235-250 on the high side at 2500rpm.

When I get back from seattle, will replace the dryer and front expansion valve..before the system died from a hole in the suction line, a diagnosis from someone I know..was bad front expansion valve already.

Siting still 80d outside I get 63d discharge temps.

It'll be enough to get me to Seattle & back.

Im will bring my new vacuum pump and R134 manifold/hose set up to Seattle if anyone needs to borrow it.

Im free all day Saturday, and I can meet up/help, and maybe clinic a little if someone has a place near there to host/etc.

They can be 'out' until about the 19th, when I return home.

Nice! How did you cap the rear AC lines? I don't want to but if I can't find a non-leaking evaporator I'll be stuck.

Yup, I'm interested in the same info including PICTURES as to how and where you did it. Thanks in advance.

Removing the oem suction line created a seven piece pile of plumbing to get it out without engine removal.

We welded AN fittings to the front two connections to make a new suction line to enable front AC.

Next month, well put in an AN T fitting in the line I have now, and plumb in the rear AC at that time.

So we used the rear suction fitting from the cutting, welded a cap on it, put a new oring at the junction...and installed it.

What is missing from the description and I'll add more detail.

I only capped the rear suction line under the car. I left the high side line connected and untouched.

Here's one way to disconnect - done by a PO.

Couplings were separated, and a new cover nuts/O-rings installed with pinched off/soldered sections of tubing. The rear section was sealed with duct tape. Restoration was as simple as removing the caps and re-connecting.

Just finished rebuilding the Rear AC - new O-rings, evaporator, expansion valve. Charged today and blowing 60 deg in traffic.

As an aside, the flex pipe has been removed, as has most of the air pump stuff since WA doesn't check OEM setup. The Sharktuner WBO2 now uses the port.

Ya..pretty much same thing.

I didnt have good luck pinching the OEM alum pipe, its a VERY hard alloy, and had micro-fractures from the pinching. Water tight, but not brake cleaner tight.. Ended up capping that suction line.

FWIW, I am bringing my manifold and vaccum pump...if anybody would like to borrow them while Im there.

What temp scale is "d"? If it's 39F, that's not real terrific unless its around 110F outside.

39F is good nuff, for a bad expansion valve for now.
