Default Panamera motor in a 928?

Has anyone done a shoehorn yet? I did some searching, but found nothing... but, I know that *nothing* is impossible... for long.

Panamera? isn't that an 'aging' V6 at this point?

Now fitting a 928 with a 918 Spyder engine..that would be a trick - 770hp!

a Panamera is actually the new front engine v-8 water cooled 4 door sedan.
I do not think this would work. Do a search - the physical engine apparantly won't fit with the hood closed.

i remember a thread on here that talked about that. and i think you are correct Ed, it would not work due to the intake being 67 feet above the block. she is a tall one for sure.

The six in the Panamera is new, not the VW/AUDI VR6 like the older Cayenne had.

LOL! 67 feet! Hehe thanks for the replies guys. Sure would look good tho, even if you have to muscle bulge the hood

I thought they said its too wide?? Hell if the problem is only the intake height I would drive it without the hood....

I know of a guy who crammed a Mercedes Benz M100 engine from a 450SEL 6.9 into a Mercedes Benz 450SLC. To overcome the height problem, he built shims for the sub frame so that he could mount the body a little higher. Then lowered the suspension appropriately. It worked pretty well.

This is exactly why I always wear a tie when I work on my Mercedes.

I think I'd keep a Panamera engine in a Panamera.

Can you begin to think of the complexity involved? An already messy electrical system... then having to adapt modern injection electrical system, different voltages different impedances different everything... just makes my head spin.
