Anyone thinking of doing such a conversion would use a 3rd party stand alone system which greatly simplifies things.

Once you ditch any OEM ECU it's just an ordinary V8 unless you have a complex cam timing system like most Audi's have these days. Even that can be easily controlled with MOTEC, Autronic, AEM etc.......

Well then you could probably easily shoehorn it in there...

You can put anything in anything with enough skill and determination.

Engine swaps usually include harness and computer swaps..

As long as you could find/mod a pusher style clutch/press. plate, you could use the Cayenne auto removable BH and make an adapter.

Just saw a used Cayenne S engine 50,000 miles offered for sale for $10K can only imagine what a newer Panamera engine might cost. We know the last new GTS 928 engines were over $30,000 ten years ago !

It's much cheaper and quicker to just modify the existing 928 engine and breathe new life into your 928.

It would be a cool swap.

You can spend the same money you would spend on just that engine and get a twin turbo system for your 928 that will produce more power than that. And you wouldn't have to have any special wiring harness's made, no one off fabricating, etc.

Those panamera turbo engines can be hot rodded up to at least 740 HP by the way.

AHLEN, Germany — Edo Competition, one of Germany's better known tuners, is usually brand-agnostic when it comes to tweaking supercars. But it does know a thing or two about Porsches — especially fast Porsches. It's also happy to fashion a one-off special to customer order, which is how the Porsche Panamera "Moby Dick" came about.

Edo started with a Panamera Turbo and, at the buyer's request, fitted a Mansory body kit to the big four-door. Then Edo dove under the hood and began to do what it knows best — squeezing more juice, in this case from the twin-turbo Porsche V8.

The result is an increase in output from 494 to 739 horsepower, which in turn slashed 0-60 acceleration to less than 4.0 seconds and boosted top speed — still electronically governed — to 211 miles per hour.

Edo added an electronic lowering kit and 22-inch wheels, as well as a carbon-fiber rear valance shrouding four massive stainless-steel exhaust tips.
