Sorry, I just realized, Sunday is day 2 of Greenwich Concours (ie European cars). I missed it last year and really want to see it this year. More then likely I won't be able to attend June 3rd gathering...

Work computer will not let me copy the map: Captree State Park (admission) and Oak Beach are two different locations. Oak Beach is a parking lot for a pier that people fish from and it is free. Oak Beach is where the muscle cars/bikes congregate on Sunday mornings; it is a mile or so south or west of Captree on Ocean Parkway. From the Robt. Moses bridge, exit to the right, I believe the sign says "Ocean Beaches", you will be heading SW, about 1 mile and look for the first cross over (U-turn) from left lane. The parking lot is on the other side. You can see it (barely) just before the cross over. Make the 180 and it will be just ahead on your right.
Captree is still a nice location, but why deprive all those Mustangs and Corvettes of your presence? There will be other NICE rides there, maybe a deuce coupe, Ferrari or Countach or Ford GT40. Once there was an original GT40 and a 2005 side-by-side. If weather is nice, it will fill by 8:00 - 8:30. I will miss you guys this week wherever you meet, but I will make it some other Sunday. Enjoy

I put out a lot of suggestions and no one piped up until I put something firm down. Then I moved it to Captree. And now we're still not going to get great attendance (understandable due to the weekend picked). But we have to start somewhere.
I stepped up to volunteer as the Long Island co-ordinator; no-one else did, even when I had no 928.
If someone wants to take over the reigns and organize, please do. I've got a full-time job and family and a car that needs tending.

mick, thank you for trying to make this work. if i may offer some advice, keep it simple and don't get upset. there are plenty of homedepot parking lots (farmingdale, copaigue, westbury) that can accomodate the huge (10cars?) turnout. find one (nassau/suffolk border) that has a deli/bagel/bakery. start at 7 end by 10or11 so people can get on with their day. regards bern.
HD scares me due to crap left all over the parking lots (even though I met up with Court Shark there in MD!)

The good thing about an empty parking lot is that ours cars will be parked together. At Oak Beach, unless everyone gets there early, most likely we won't be all in a nice row. The bad thing is that others won't see the all of the 928s and we won't see the F430s, etc., that may be there.
I'm down for Hicksville or a similar location as it will be closer to me. I have a 2 month old son and while I want to hang out with other 928 people, realistically I shouldn't spend a big chunk of a Sunday away from home...

Hey Pete!
Did you ever get you car sorted enough for really long drives?
By the way, has anyone else noticed that a lot of the NY rennlisters photograph their cars in front of bridges?
