Default WTB 928 Car Phone

Anybody out there got a 928 Car Phone. My interior is a two tone, all leather, combo and in ALMOST perfect condition... In order to complete the 80's look, I would like to reinstall the car phone if one is available... If it still works... well, so much the better

Respond on here or PM...

Thanks!

I'm sure you will be able to find a proper vintage car phone, but its unlikely it will ever work....all the new phones are pure digital...the old analog phones are supported anymore :>( Bummer since they worked better anyway

Actually, it would probably be possible to just put a new digital phone board inside the much bigger 928 phone.

Well..was it a Porsche branded phone..or..a Motorolla kit? Surely you could find the old brick kits..

I've got a line on a Motorolla so that is covered. What I'd LIKE to find is the stock Porsche phone that came mounted on the passenger side of the center console - the black screws are still in my leather I'm sure there are a few laying around somewhere. Looking for asthetics - ya know the whole 80's thing since analog phones arent supported anymore - although some 21 yr old car audio dude could probably convert it to digital for a $10 bill and a six pack of LandShark Beer

I think I have one, but it may take me a bit to find it. I'll let you know.

Rod,

Thank you VERY much! I'll wait (impatiently of course) for the word!

My 86.5 has a microphone (clipped near A-pillar) and the antenna (driver rear quarter window), and the four holes for the original mount. Not sure whether these were "Porsche" car phone parts. Don't have a phone, though. But, I find the things to be mostly in the way, so if they may be useful, I can send pics.

Martin, Thanks for the Motorolla set up... It'll do the trick if I'm unable to find the stock Porsche set up

Shane, Not sure... but I dont THINK the microphone, etc, were stock items. One of the other guys on here would know so please post the pics if they are handy
