Default 928 4x4 Project Coming Along

In order to improve handling, I'm building an AWD 928 to complete with those 911 C4's. But, AWD systems are just too complicated so I'm just going to make it 4x4. What's the difference... it's all the same. Anyway, I'm sure the solid front and rear axles will handle fine on the track. The center of gravity is a tad higher than stock but should be too noticable. I'm sure the stock sway bars will be fine to control sway at high speeds. Here's a pic of my S4 mounted on the range rover frame. Not to mention, the rover 3.9L will leave a Porsche 5.0L in the dust anyday of the week... you guys better watch out, this will be the best track car ever!

Man... you seriously got my hopes up. An AWD build on a 928 has been a dream of mine for a while.

You know they did quite a bit of rally racing with the 911's too. Your 4x4/AWD track car may be better suited for rallying...

Can't wait to follow your build progress! Especially interested in how you're going to integrate the nose in with what must be a BIG splitter!

Man, an AWD conversion would be the ultimate unique one of a kind project. That would be awesome! Just find an old 6R4 powertrain/driveline and there you go!

I've been wondering what you've been up to! (And now I see why you didn't need those wheels...)

LOL... So true. My real track car is coming along though. As for this... I have a bare range rover frame, an S4 shell with no suspension and I need to increase parking space... This problem damn near solved itself
