George, I am surprised that no-one has told you - that orange thing in the first pic? It goes UNDER the car.

Got ready to leave for Ely this morning and got a "Coolant Level Warning". After adding a 1/2 gallon of
water to the radiator, I started the car pulled out of the garage and parked it on the street. Saw a line
of coolant tracing the path of the car. So Bill and I looked around and found a hole in the radiator.
So we spent the day pulling the radiator, taking to the shop, getting it repaired, then reinstalling it.
Just finished a while ago. We figure it's too late to drive out today (9 hour drive), so we'll try again
tomorrow.

Better to find the leak before you left home....... rather than on the start line :-)

Good luck !!

John, I told Bill, it's better to happen here then on highway 50, the "Loneliest Highway in the World".
Anyway we made it to Ely this evening and will register in the morning. At least we won't be the only
928 running on Sunday, Joe and Jim will be running an S4 in 125 class.

Good luck, be safe. Hope that "repaired radiator" holds up.

Got registered this morning, then went to tech. Long line, so we had to wait for a while.
Here's Bill talking with Jim and Joe. Jim's car was two behind mine in line.

Took a test drive this afternoon with Bill on the Sharktuner. Everything looked good, so
we're ready for the race tomorrow.

George
I gotta ask......do you ever wash your 928? You know a smooth coat of wax must gain you at least 1mph or more...... It saves airplanes lots of money?

Adam,

Don't have any official word yet. Bill and I drove directly back from the race and
didn't stop by the awards dinner to get the results. We didn't get back until early
this morning. I haven't had time to sort through all the photos and videos yet,
but I can say I met many of the goals for this event.

I did finish and at least unofficially, I did break 200 mph.

I'll post more later.

Thanks for all your support (and that goes to all rest of you out there also).
