Default Routing Trans Cooler lines

So after getting the all clear from the doctor on the cancer thing and feeling a bit better, I've started working on the car again.

I want to install an external trans cooler from an 86.5. (Small one that mounts between of the AC Condensor and grill, on the bottom)

Have all the parts.

Pulled the electric fan to put it in, no problem there, bolted right in.

I can't figure out how to route the cooler lines. Searched the WSM and the PET 7. No help there.

Any pictures of how they get from the cooler to the radiator and trans line would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

on mine (rhd 84 s2 euro) the lines went through the 'side plate' for the radiator there are holes for them
mine looped through the rad cooler and then along the drivers chassis leg to the gearbox.

Hope this helps!

I think I know what you are saying.

I think from what you have said, that I'll need to make the holes a cutout in the apron off to the side of the radiator.

Does one hose go at the bottom and one at the top?

Or both towards the top?

Thanks

I dont know about you but i find working on these cars very theraputic, but very addictive!!

Thank you very much. I will modify it to resemble the one in the picture.

Yes, working on the car helps to keep my mind busy and off the day to day troubles.

Not sure what i will do when it is finished.

This Spring marks the final phase for the mechanical.

Everything mechanical is new, rebuilt or upgraded. From front to Back Suspension and all. And a whole lot of the electronics as well.

Will soon dyno the car and post it all up with the whole story for anyone who might be interested in the process and upgrades along with much appreciated thanks to all the Rennlisters and Vendors that have gotten involved.

AS far as another car, I've had this 928 almost half of my life and I'm turning 60 this year. Time to drive it every day again soon.

Not sure this is any help, but on the 85 there is a short odd looking hose that connects between the long line from the transmission and directly the to the radiator. One end has a large coupler. The top of the cooler on the radiator has an sharply curved metal tube that curves down and attaches to the rubber hose that goes to the external cooler. The return line from the external cooler goes to the return line. It is a longer rubber hose with just a couple threaded connectors.

Good luck.
