Progress on a 928 Bubble Top
What does an old Hot-Rodder-at-heart do with an older, rust-belt exposed, classic-bodied 928 that can be picked up for a song? An '81 5-speed in Florida, in this case?

Less than 100K on the mechanicals does not hurt. (I can vouch for the mileage, despite the shape of the body and interior - this car belonged to Mike Giamarco, and then Jukka Torvela. Mike put most of the miles on the car. Jukka, being an airline pilot, didn't get to drive it much, and, unfortunately, let it sit out a lot.)

Well, the era is only a little off if we include the design years for the 928 (early 70's). And, though it's not American iron, we already have Volksrods which are not immediately thrown out of traditional Hot Rod events...

I've always wanted to make a Rat Rod out of a 928.
the way the stock control arms look with the fenders off is a great starting point.
Just not sure how I would chop the top and retain the hatch.......

The video is really funny, notice the suspension movement and the dive under braking. That plus how flimsy the steering wheel is as he touches it while talking !! That thing had to be a bear to drive but it was never really meant to be driven.
