Default TiKORE Titanium Lug Bolts

Hey everyone, we at TiKORE Industries are excited about our new Rennlist sponsorship. We have decided to make our intro by presenting an excellent group buy to members.

https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...ro-tikore.html

First a little background on TiKORE.

TiKORE Industries (pronounced Tie-Core) was established in 2010 to serve the needs of the aftermarket automotive industry. TiKORE designs, engineers, and manufactures titanium and other alloy products at its headquarters located in Fort Lauderdale, FL (USA).

We offer titanium lug bolts and lug nuts for all brands of vehicles (custom sets as well for those folks running spacers). For Porsche we offer a two piece bolt similar to the factory bolt (without all the rust and wear) and a one piece bolt similar to many other lug bolts.

Hi Joshua
Pretty much everyone on this particular forum runs an light alloy nut. I suspect you can make them but they are not shown on your website. You might have a greater impact (at least right here) if you figured out what they are and posted the details about what you could offer for our particular application. Best of luck, and thanks for signing up as a sponsor.

Sorry but at $ 500 a set given this .."The weight of the average factory set is 4.11 lbs.
The weight of the TiKORE set is 3.07 lbs." I doubt it makes any measurable difference in performance for a 3,400 lb street car.

Some cool factor to being able to tell the gals in the bar that you have Titanium nuts. Just in case they misunderstand.

The Aluminum closed end lug nuts for 928 are exteremely light already - like to see the direct comparison here.

Really - lug bolts are not very interesting on this forum.

I NEED LIGHTER NUTS!

They hang so low already, sometimes they drag.

Indeed - I would seriously doubt that 20 of them weigh more than 1 lb. In fact I use open ended steel lug nuts and I doubt 20 of those weigh much more than 1lb.

What class threads are used on these?

Cold welding/galling is problematic with titanium. While very..VERY corrosion resistant, the oxide layer on Ti comes off pretty easy, which instantly re-oxidized the surface..etc..etc..etc...galling.

Which is what we see in the alum lugnuts, is without good lubrication, galling is a problem in that constant scrub of the surface oxidation...which then starts to eat the metal as you remove the fastener over and over, etc.

So..for $500 of panty-grabbing bling, I would hope your source uses UNRC Class-2 threads, nuts use no more than 1.25xDiameter of the stud to engage, and a supply of proper lubricant is provided..being they are going to be run in & out several times..of course.

I'd have to look it up, but there is a special anodizing that SHOULD be used to really prevent the galling problem at all...since nobody likes little fleas of metal coming out their $500 lugnuts..

We recommend using anti-seize, but with that being said we have never had an instance of galling or seizing. We have a corvette race team using our close ended lug nuts, and they have never had a problem, nor has the material ever been damaged. As for comparing titanium to aluminum.... that is not even in the same world, very different product, titanium is about the same weight as aluminum with the strength of steel. It also does a great job retaining finish.

Thanks everyone!

Its just a very different product. Also, our open lug nut and non-extended lug nut are sold for less than the larger lug nuts. I will work on getting a group buy price for those that are interested. We recently sold a set to a forum member and he posted a picture the other day.

Thanks everyone!

Porsche thought it was OK, our cars all came with aluminum closed end nuts from the factory.

As a FYI, I would suggest you do some research before posting stuff for sale in a model specific forum. The OP says your company makes bolts and nuts, and for Porsche you have one and two piece bolts and our cars don't use bolts. Then you scoff at an owner for using aluminum nuts, which are a factory designed product!

Sorry for the confusion, we know about the aluminum, my words were taken incorrectly. I just meant aluminum and titanium are two very different items. And we do sell closed and open lug nuts for your vehicle.

Sorry for the wording everyone. I will correct.

On another note, solid name Cosmo!

Thanks Josh!

I can see a market on this forum for your nuts for track cars and racers, there are a few on here.
