Default Interior/HVAC refurb

I snapped a few pictures in case anyone was interested in seeing what the HVAC vacuum manifold looks like close up. This is on a 1983S

Thank you, but <more>, please. I don't fully understand what I'm looking at. Above the pedals, right?

I think I get the first and third pictures, but not the middle. hmmmm ... tho' I do see the colored vacuum lines exiting the plastic cover (?) stage left.

BTW, does anyone know what the vacuum lines diameter is?
I found a broken 4-way connector on my 1989 S4 , the one close to the Brake Booster, and since the genuine is very expensive (and comes with additional stuff), I am trying to see if I can use one from a regular parts store (3/16" size).
I know 928 Specialists carry an alternative, but the shipment for just that plus time makes it not very convenient for me right now

Thanks
