Default A/C Line 928 570 093 04 W/Rear AC..replace?

Does this line have a 'soft' section of hose?

Appears mine..has a split. I cant SEE it, but Bill Ball and I have found a huge hole at what appears to be that line, down under the pass side coil.

Can just lifting the engine work this one out..or..should I simply get it bypassed between each good end, and fuhgettabout replacing the whole line?

from what I recall this is line is a serious PITA to change....if your main AC is working properly, then you really don't need the rear unit.....I would just cap it.....

This is the high pressure line goes to BOTH the front and rear AC, so capping it off won't help. It's leaking way up at what appears to be a hose section fitting near the front end of the line. I general, you would need to pull the motor to replace this line. In theory, if you had the proper crimp tools, fitting and some skills, you could replace just the hose section in situ. The standard fix is to bypass it completely with a new hose that is routed over the top of the motor. Nicole had it done. A few have reported that it can be replaced directly, engine in place, with some bending and contortions. I read a comment that Rob Edwards did it, but I cannot find the thread with search. Actually, that may have been the low pressure line next to it, but I think the situation is the same.

Here's the thread:

I would not recommend doing this again, I think I'd just remove the fan shroud, radiator, coil, and all the other schmutz in the way, and then tow the damn thing to an A/C shop (or pay the guy to make a house call) and repair it in situ.
