hood alionement
hello all,
84 Euro here. I searched the forum, but it did not seem like anone had my problem. I am trying to adjust my hood, up by my windshield my hood was about 1/4" to 3/8" low on both sides. I figured out if i just loosen the bolt enogh to be able ot move it, but not move around, i could adjust it with the hood down. Then get it where i want it, then raise the hood and tighten the bolts. On the drivers side, i was able to get the hood flush, but on the passengers side it is still about 1/8 low, and it seems i am out of adjustment. It does not seem possible to come up any higher.
I tried opening the hood, loosening the bolts and raising the hood all the way. But when i close the hood, its still 1/8 low. I even tried to loosen the 3 bolt that mount the hinge to the frame, and raise it there. It just seems it wont go any higher. Any ideas?

On thing that will prevent hood alignment is lack of lube in the hinges. That may sound ridiculous, but the hinges bind with lack of lubrication even if they do move and you can close the hood.
It's a pain, man. I thought my car was bent. After about the 3rd try it all fell into place. You're doing the right thing - slightly loosen, close, bump into shape, open carefully, tighten. Keep trying
