i have had nothing but good luck with fellow listers. wether it be buying a part, or getting ideas and advice. even the snaps and jabs we give each other can help some one......

 

Sterling some times I have found that I had to turn the flash off on the camera and enhance the brightness on the picture in the computer.

I also find it hard to find quality at times

As far as getting along on here, I have felt a dislike in the odd post.
At work I have learned that e-mails and text lack the emotion or body language and sometimes seem harsher then are ment.

I wish I had the resources you have in your area Sterling, but I always look forward to your post on your updates.

Ben's a class-act: known him for about 11 years now. I may have motivated him to "go 928" when we met up at a hot rod meet when I had just restored my '85 euro. Right Ben (ha ha).

Nothing wrong with a 928 being tracked...chances are it's probably better taken care of and better condition that an occasionally driven streeter...and most of the wear parts would have been replaced...

so as Ed always used to say.. YMMV...

 

I have learned that just because they have a pcar or a 928 they are not always nice people. In this case I just wanted to let everyone know that I support Ben, and his powdercoating biz. He is a good guy and does great work~!

 

You're actually upset about that enough to imply to the whole world that you got screwed?
You bought the car from me, the guy with the racing website and race car and you bought it at such a low price it was obvious I was in trouble at the time. And now several years later you are bothered because I didn't tell you I did a DE event as though it were something like a salvage title?

The car has never been off track or had any kind of incident at all in my care, that I would have told you about. It was driven not much differently that an enthusiast would drive on the street at times. Maybe the greater worry on a 20+ year old car is how it was treated by all the other people, not the 928 nut you bought it from.

If you really feel that you were wronged by me I may be able to buy the car back at the same price assuming it's been stored indoors like when I had it.

I agree with Sterling, I was burned once (OK, maybe just a little bit scalded) when I loaned a tool to someone I didn't know and never got it back. I honestly don't remember who it was at this point. Oh well. You rolls the dice and you takes your chances.

The vast majority of my dealings on here have been overwhelmingly positive though and I appreciate Sterling posting compliments on here about his experience with Ben.

Every community (or family) has its nuts and its weirdos. There are trolls under every bridge on the internet. But I think in general our ratio of good people to crackpots and crooks is pretty good.

 

Ben is definitely a great dude, and has some super powdercoating skills. I was surprised by his pricing--in a good way. Let's see some photos!

 

I trust people on here and have purchased items from others with some great results. It makes me feel good knowing that our 928 community has such a good amount of members full of knowledge and items
Now on the topic of getting screwed... What comes around, goes around.

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback and, more importantly, the support for this new venture. Building something new and placing it out for the world to see is quite an experience.
Sterling, I can't wait to see those covers on your engine. Mark, you hooked me, but not deep enough as I ended up with an auto.. Mark, I hope pictures will find their way onto this forum at some point, and I really hope its by satisfied customers.
