Most advanced car of each decade

So did the Tucker in the 1950's... and it's still being praised in new car offerings as 'high tech'.
I think a 'Most Advanced' title should go to a car that is not a 'limited edition' or a 'prototype'.... IMHO. The 959 being offered to the public for racing homologation (sp?) purposes would place this securely in a 'limited' category.
For the decade of the 80's... the winner should be the 1989 928S4/GT

ok, ok, Point well taken & so noted Alan. And I thought you're expertise was mostly in 928 electrics. I guess since I do receive their email updates, I have no excuse. Perhaps I'll start quoting the entire name of Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance just to be safe. Either way, I'll make sure not to make that mistake again!

Compared to the Civic the 928 is a very limited edition car. Hell, compared to the 944 & 911 it's a limited car. I guess the GTS, EuroS, and GT's all need to be exempt from any 928 comparisons since they are very much limited edition cars compared to the rest of the family.
Some would argue the 959 is just a re-bodied, modified 911.
Who cares if the 928 is considered the most advanced of any decade? Is that really going to change your enjoyment of your car? If yes, just sell the damn thing and buy something else. I'll never understand this constant need to prop up the 928 on some imaginary pedestal all the time.
If you like your car, that is all that matters. If your buddies are always on your *** to justify what a great car it is, find new friends.

Everyone likes to argue who has the best car, or sports team, invention or whatever throughout time. That's one of the things that makes this a great country. Friendly competition and rousing tells us that we are usually together on the important stuff.

Yes, but the article was just too general. Most advanced with regard to what?
Most fancy new features?
Most powerful but also reliable?
Most efficient but still fun?
Very strange article. This is why I avoid the popular (free) press.

70's cars now seem to look either great or really bad always had a soft spot for a jensen ff: early 70's 4wd, abs, traction control plus nice looking body and big v8.
get tempted by one eveytime i see a nice interceptor ff or not.
