Ok.

Here's a list of non-928 attractions I would check out.

http://www.californiasciencecenter.org/MainPage.php

California Science Center
700 Exposition Park Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90037

This place has a huge IMAX screen and the concession prices are amazingly low. If you buy tickets to an IMAX show, you get admission to the Science Center/Museum free.

Directly adjacent to the Science center is the Air and Space Museum (where the space shuttle Endevor is headed)... This place is included in the price of your IMAX ticket...

This beauty is right next to the pacrking lot and you can walk right underneath it. AMAZING.

Don't forget Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm... They are always good for a day or two. Plus they are really close to 928 Intl and Precision Motorwerks... Knotts has a restaurant in the ghost town that serves GREAT food and HUGE draft beers... If you like that sort of thing! There is a really cool theater/entertainment center accross the street from Disneyland called Anahein Gardenwalk. They have a IMAX theater here (not nearly as HUGE of a screen as the Science center) on the top level of the parking structure. But the really fun thing here is the adults only (NOT XXX ADULT mind out of the gutter please!) section of the theater. They show all the latest movies, but also serve beer and wine here. I love having a few nice cold brewskis when watching a movie on a large screen... (brings me back to my youth having beers at the drive in I guess). The seating is also large luxury leather seating with tables between double sections of seats. Gardenwalk has some nice places to eat there too including a Cheesecake factory.

If you want a nice getaway without a lot of crowds, I recommend Seal Beach. Small town with a Ruby's diner out on the end of the pier. Lots of little shops on main street and some Irish pubs.

And an absolute MUST see if you're a gearhead like me is the QUEEN MARY. You don't need to get a guided tour, but you MUST go explore the engine room... TOTALLY INCREDIBLE machinery down there. After the engine room, go back to the front of the ship and head up to the SUNDECK. You can checkout the views but you can't quite get forward far enough to be "KING OF THE WORLD!" but close enough. Also, they have a Russian sub docked here that you can tour. (I LOVE THIS KIND OF STUFF) These are good for a full day alone if you desire. Very close to the Queen Mary is the Aquarium of the Pacific. Very nice aquarium with lots to see. There is a free shuttle that runs between the Queen Mary and the Aquarium. I recommend parking at the parking structure at the Aquarium and shuttle/hoofing it around this area. There are packages available where you can get tickets for the Aquarium and the Queen Mary together at a discounted rate. The Queen Mary is actually a hotel so you can stay ont he ship if you so desire too... Next to the Aquarium are tons of restaurants like Outback, PF Changs, Famous Dave's, etc. then a short walk away from that is The Pike. The Pike is like a little village of shops right on the water. You can see the Queen Mary from here and there is a lot to do.

Hopefully I havn't confused you too much, but these are all some memorable destinations I recommend that your wife will probably really appriciate. (Besides 928 content locations!)

Best Regards,

Mike

Congrats on the trip.

Full contact info back on page two I think of this thread in my post.

Mark is easy to reach, 928Intl and you get either Tom or Mark directly after about 9am.

Greg is the opposite, he is frequently immersed in some part of a 928 and not to be disturbed. OTOH is only a couple miles down the road from Mark and at worst can say go away, hasn't happen yet AFAIK. Mark should also know if its safe to visit.

Hopefully Rob and Mike will see this as well and we can all meet at 928Intl and maybe squeeze in lunch.

Hitched a ride in Rob's GTS at Sharktoberfest last fall, and yes, that 28 runs strong. T

I got a chance to hang out in Hermosa beach a few years back to pick up the 968. . Really enjoyed it. Very clean for an LA beach. I think the best beaches are in Orange county. Had a lot of fun cruising them in my first Porsche back in the 80's, it was a 70 914.

Yes Mike that is to bad but that is the problem when you are on holidays and everyone else has to work.

Deb and I were very happy that Mark and his staff and that Ron spent as much time with us as they did.
The BWAAAAH was what I really enjoyed but it was more of higher tone which I thought is the way it should sound.
The torque was incredible from that 6.5 GB engine and it was about twice as fast (0 to 100) as my car

Deb and I are heading to Santa Monica today and will meet up with Michael MJ928

He's from Canada. I'm sure he meant 100 km.
