On second thought, as sweet at it would be to have a GTS in the garage, I've come to the conclusion that the running cost and unknowns would sink this father of four.... I'll stick with my simple, happy S.

However, you'd expect the door speakers and panels wouldn't be too happy (if it was the windows open), and if it wasn't dried out quickly you'd be likely to see condensation damage in a few other areas, including electrical connections and modules.

For that damage alone it could be that the windows or sunroof were left open during rain. That'd be enough to soak the seat bases including the electronics under, and wet the carpet, and not get the CE panel.

We have a rule up North, if you see a car from the south with water damage stay away. We get ton's of hurricane damaged vehicles up here. And yes this car has been advertised on many different sites.

Not a problem plating it here. With salvage title all you have to do is fix what is wrong, take it to MTO for inspection, get the certificate and plate it. With this one being water damage only it would be a piece of cake to get it through.

That rule has changed in the last couple of years. If a out of province/state vehicle comes into Ontario with a salvage title from that jurisdiction it cannot be registered no matter what you do, it can only be used for parts. Vehicles that get salvage branded while registered in Ontario can be repaired/inspected and put back on the road.

According to RIV salvage titles can still be registered in Canada, it's just the non repairable vehicles that can not and are good for parts only.
With the following exception: As of April 1, 2008, all vehicles entering Canada with a brand of salvage/flood are considered as non-repairable by all licensing jurisdictions in Canada.
So a flood damaged vehicle can not be registered, but a standard salvage title can.
Sorry Cosmo, I was bored at work and checked out RIV.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If this car was previously plated in Ontario it would be OK, but if it was transferred it's a boat anchor.

I looked and the rule I mentioned is for motorcycles (and as above, salvage titled flood/fire damaged cars).
When I was into sportbikes, a few guys I knew were burned buying salvage title bikes from the USA that had minor cosmetic damage. They couldn't register them in Ontario. I think they ended up converting them to track bikes.
