1994 928 GTS Cdn$40,000

VIN: WP0AA2927RS820160

Excellent unrestored original condition, everything in the vehicle is Porsche original, no fluid leaks, car is tight and clean.

Full options including power seats, mirrors, door locks, cruise, black leather, sunroof, original Porsche alarm, original Porsche stereo with CD changer, limited slip, rear wiper, rear air, floormats.

Car is in nearly perfect condition. There is a scratch on the front bumper right in the middle, there is a small repairable scratch on the drivers door near the handle, there is also a scratch on the right side of the rear bumper. These are repairable. The bottom cushions of the seats are new due to water damage (see details below). There are no scratches under the hood, although there is some accumulated dirt. The rear hatch area is complete, but the carpet doesn't quite fit right over the spare tire. The lettering is slightly worn from some of the switches. On the wheels, there is left over gum from where the old wheel weights were installed. The exhaust is good, along with all of the other pieces. The dash is great, along with the rest of the interior, as are the doors and door pockets. The sill plate is a bit scuffed on the driver's side. All lights and controls work, fog lights, etc. Other than that it's pretty much perfect, it's obvious it has been taken care of.

The brakes are very good, very even, no pull to left or right. The tires while worn very little should be replaced as they are over 10 years old. Braking is even, there is no pull to left or right, ABS works, both airbags intact, and the alignment is perfect.

Car has Texas salvage title. The car was water damaged with water on the carpet, seat bottoms, and also the seat electronics. The carpets have been replaced (Porsche stock), new seat bottoms, and the seat electronics have been replaced as well. Other than that there was no damage, and there is no remaining evidence under the carpet or anywhere else of water being on the floor.

The car was purchased from Imports Unlimited in Wallingfort CT in 2002. The mileage at that time was 39,500 mi. Currently the car has 42,000 mi. The car is being sold as it is rarely used.

Water high enough to get the seat electronics wet, but not the CE panel? Was it hanging on the wall of a garage?

I think we are about to see how a salvage title effects the price of an otherwise nice low mileage 928.

Water damage on this car aside, it's good to see 928 asking prices getting up there where they should be. This GTS should command a high price as it's not been owned by Charlie Sheen.

This car has been for sale for years. Nobody wants to pay 40K for a salvage title. I remember one of the members looking at it and said it is nice but definitely not mint.

I think that means that when the insurance company paid for the damage they considered it a right off. The owner can collect the cash, buy it back and fix it but the title has the written-off / salvage title attached to its history

It must be around the corner from me. ...But $40k for a salvage title?? I don't know. If it was in a flood 10 years ago, wouldn't the problems have surfaced by now?

"... water on the carpet, seat bottoms, and also the seat electronics" ... yeah right, besides the CE, how about the alarm module, the lat acceleration sensor, amplifier and probably ten other electronic components under there ...

That's the beauty of being 'rarely driven', you just forget about the alarm that doesn't work, PSD off, etc. etc.

I wonder if it ever had Ontario Plates on it. I didn't think we allowed import of a Salvage Title car except for parts...

It's a joke really. Starting bid on Keith's car is 42K... And it's built to the hilt...

I'd say this car is probably worth about 20-23K
