replace door panel mid range speakers and grills with stock
replace non factory negative battery cable
add missing headlight rod clip
replace non factory a/c clutch
add missing underpan
I'd also like to put a factory Blaupunkt Monterey but I don't have one. Anyone out there have one they'd like to sell?
Mark,

I've done some ebay and nationwide Craigslist searches for you.. No Dice... On Rennlist there were a few that popped up with them sold. However, on this one thread, there are a few mentions of people having Monterey SQR 23's available with no mention of them being sold. You might have luck there.

The fan shroud washer has the incorrect plating? For shame. I'd return the car for a full refund.
BTW, how could you, of all people, not have a spare cassette deck? I still have the Monterey from my 86.5, if you like. It'll be a few weeks before I could get it to you, though. My GT is currently with Ron Ruff and I am without wheels until it is done.

Thanks Mike,
I may have to settle for a Reno as I have plenty of them.

I seem to recall a place on the web that refurbishes the old radios, might as well have one that fully works, no crackle in the volume etc?

This place I think. http://www.swstereo.com/index.php

Oh we have lot's of cassette decks. I just prefer a Monterey for accuracy so please let me know what you want for it.

It was pulled from the 86.5 in 2000. I truly am unable to recall if it had full functionality...I know it worked. If you can wait a few weeks, let's just get it into your hands so you can first confirm that it meets your needs. If so, its yours for a couple of t-shirts...if that's fair. I'd be happy knowing I "helped out" with your new ride.

Congrats on the nice find Mark,

one thing you might eventually need to look at are the folds in your seats. The middle one in your driver's seat seems to have loosen already.

I've discussed this in the past, but just know that this is due to a flaw in the original design and it can be repaired and the construction upgraded so the folds remain secure.

Thanks Paul,
How do you recomend addressing this? Do I send the seats to you? Should I first use Leatherique to soften them up? (they are pretty soft already)

Hey Mark,

you can just send me the base foams. They will lift off the frame as a unit with the covers. And will go back on in the same way once I'm done.

I'm doing the same thing for Tony's Pascha seats right now.

Yours are in amazing condition. All 3 folds usually come loose.

That's just nuts. Congratulations!

Now...seems like the intent was to buy one to enjoy/share/drive............but there is that odometer thing...

any rules-for-self in place yet?

My 86.5 is no where near that condition, but I still feel conflicted at running up the miles, despite being in the 'built to be driven' camp.

No set rules in place. I tell my self that even if I put on 10k I don't think it will change the value. That must be the hard part about owning Kermit or Blue as the same cannot be said.
