Hey Brian,

Work got in the way at the last minute, the CEO and his direct reports of the utility are here at the center and I have to be here to make sure everything goes well.

I'm going to try to make it up there on Saturday to at least see you guys on the track.

And no the Koenig is not ready yet so it wont be going.

Have a question, or request. Can those of you experienced track/race 928ers give me advice or direction regarding a recommended tire pressure for running my car in a PCA DE this upcoming weekend?

I run Kuhmo Ecsta ASXs, 235 up front & 275s in the rear. Wheels are the aftermarket 17" Cup 2s. (The Kinesis wheels stay in the garage for DEs & Autocrossing)

Thanks in advance for help & suggestions!

Depending on how hard you're driving you can easily gain10 psi as your tires come up to temp. I usually go out at 26/28 psi front/rear and check them when I come off track 32psi hot seems to work well on my car. Pressures above 35psi hot makes for some pretty slipery moments.

Since you have fairly small front tires, they will require more pressure than the rears...... Its much easier to bleed off pressure than add it.....I would try going out cold at say 30 front and 28 rear........then check after your 1st session....

Try for low 30's (we raced the Dunlop Dirrezza Star Specs 225/50-16 all around at 35psi) in front and a tad lower in rear......Take a CLOSE look at the tires......are they wearing all the way to the edge without rolling onto the sidewall......if the pressure is too high they won't roll onto the outside edge of the tire enough......if the pressure is too low, they will roll onto the sidewall (NOT GOOD).... Also how does the car feel....is it loose or tight.....is it different in high speed vs low speed corners?

I ran my hoosiers 295 front (31psi) and 315 rear (29psi)....the lower I took them the better the grip got...... My Pirelli slicks all around at 275/645-18 I run at 34psi front and 32psi rear....which is right in the middle of what Pirelli recommends...

In general I like my cars loose at low speeds and near neutral at high speeds.....I would rather have loose than tight.....
