Aero Mirrors

Just checked on www.928intl.com and they are $ 1224 for the set, ouch. IIRC, Roger was not far behind on price, and was not happy letting me know this crazy price. Figure if I can pick this 993 set on fleaby for $ 400, pick up some 928 bases and gaskets for another $ 100, that's approx $ 500 for all that's needed. I plan on having them painted along with the "Just Peachy" 80 when ready. If someone can guide me to the parts needed from the pic below, it would be much appreciated. T
Same at 928 Intl: http://www.mailordercentral.com/928i...731%20901%2000
I must be missing something here.

Have the prices on these gone up recently? I thought the aero mirror kit from Roger was in the $500 to $600 range.

Really? They're up to a grand now? ****! I just sold a set for $400 to a friend this past fall and I made $100! I should look into speculating in the Porsche parts market with appreciation values like that! Anyone know how to make a financial instrument out of a Porsche part? They do it with corn and pork belles, so how hard can it be?
Seriously... A grand? Wow! My car's value just went up!

Well, if that's true, then here's a bargain for you:

Even if Porsche did double the price, I thought that replicas were available.

Wow they have gone way up! I paid $355 for a set for my 928 from Sunset Porsche in Oregon http://www.sunsetimports.com/ in 2008, and they were the motorized version. Now they are over $1000??!!
Check with Sunset they still might have the best deal, and come with 928 bases.

At this unbelievable price point, are there stylistically similar mirrors from other cars (porsche/non-porsche) which could be considered.
$1,200+ to replace a pair of mirrors is c-r-a-z-y

Get them while you can, I really wish I had picked them up at $350 a set. I paid double that for my set that is being painted.
