Default Tire Size/ and Availability

I've had an '88 928 for a couple years and need to replace the rear tires. I've seen this mentioned in a couple other threads but don't see any solutions.

Are there any 245/45-16s out there or am I out of luck? It's been suggested I try 235/45s or 235/50s, but those don't seem to be readily available either. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

You can get them if you look hard.

Just be sure they are not new old stock , ask what the bithdate is on the sidewall. All tires are date coded and in Europe they expire after 5 years I believe.

Goodrich is introducing a Potenza 245/45-16 later this spring. That should solve the problem for many...

I have a similar problem. The tires on my car are 245/50-15 .... I can only find that size in a slick. And those are my front tires...

If the avitar is your car those look like 7x16 rims which should use 225x50x16 tires.
