The reason they require it is so you can't just ground the wire to enable it all the time...
Alan.
PS did you see the new dual view screen - where on a single screen the driver sees navigation (for example) while the passenger sees a movie - completely separate streams on the same panel all based on viewing angle... the new Range Rovers have them - great use of dash space... I like this...

Yeah, I see they now have 2 wires and want to see a sequence of 12V on one wire, then ground on the other, then no ground, then ground, then no voltage on the first wire. Fascinating.

Race Car
E-brake up.
E-brake down.
E-brake up. To be left there/engaged.
Last is foot off of the brake pedal.
Was a mess to figure out the first time. PITA actually because it is not explained in technical terms in the installation guide. I couldn't adjust the time on the headunit nor bass/treble, right/left, front/back
without getting into the advanced menu.
My head unit has rear outputs for other video but I am not using them. Those outputs function 100% of the time for back seat passengers. It's only the head unit that is locked out.

Hey Mcardenal - good timing. I'm starting to look around myself for a new head unit.
How up-to-date are the maps on the KD-NX5000? Looks like they are current as of 2008? Are you buying refurbished off of ebay?
Will it work with a JVC KD-NX5000?
