Thanks Paul, been in the garage all day working on the '86.5 eng, AO came by and we went over to check out how Dennis is doing with his two Weissach's

I forgot to add: On the price of Nitrous, it runs $4.fitty a lb at most local Speed shops, so to fill a 10 lb tank UR looking at ~ $37 to 45 bucks, as they are never empty.
I took two full tanks down to SITM last year and came back with some to spare, lets face it, if you hit WOT in 3rd on the hwy, UR going REAL FAST, REAL quick (120), so UR not going to do that to often

Now back to the Rolex 24

Cheers again Brett.

Do you have a pic of this install?

I really appreciate all your input here!

Hi

http://imageshack.us/f/514/16FINISHED2.jpg/

That is a picture half way through converting from a single crossfire injector to direct port..the 2 solenoids have been removed and 8 more for direct port added (on the side wings),,,

If you look at the front of the plenum, you will see the circular adaptor that I had machined to mount the crossfire injector..

Second picture shows the 2 solenoids mounted but you cannot see the adaptor as its behind the oil breather pipe by the oil filler....

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...2largefi1.jpg/

That was my sytem for up to 200 hp....it should have been up to 150 but I was pushing it a little lol, as usual for me...

This is my final system now, ignore a couple of loose pipes as I was working on it...those 4 silver rectangular boxes (2 by each wing) are the REVOS which are 500 hp each...

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/294/revo070.jpg/

This final picture is my home made instrument panel, including Nitrous gauge, Maxx electronic controller, and A/F meter...

You are welcome to post theses pics in the thread, I cannot as not a member anymore ..(I gave up being a member here once Moderators started altering and deleting my posts)

Hope these help

All the best Brett

Cheers Brett.

Appreciate it.

I however think I will install my injector after the MAF for a complete Stealth look.

What kind (type) injector did you use for your front plenum install. I dont think the type I have would be suitable for this installation...

Also, did (does) your car have Auto trans (Vaccum line of plenum). If so, how was the auto coping with the Extra power. My Strosek has the 4 speed with 40% lsd :-)

Hi

I used a "Crossfire" injector as part of my Wizards of NOS system.... unfortunately with Nitrous systems you cannot ..mix n match... so you are stuck with what you have...

Mine is auto on 18 x 10 wheels (needed for extra traction)

The auto box is a LOT stronger than the manual for Nitrous and like it better (take my word)

BUT...and this is a very very big but.... You NEED a controller..to feed in the power smoothly, or you WILL break something (like your halfshafts lol)

All the best Brett

Hmmm, ok.

Thanks again for your advice. I will look into the Controller thing.

Can you elaborate a little on whey the autobox is so much better for Nos? I have the manual. I would consider putting in a light 75 HP system to be used very sparingly if I could do it safely and it was smooth power. Would using only a 75 shot make the manual easier to deal with?

Hi

A 75 shot will be fine with a manual ... at that level you wont even need a controller...

The autobox is good for well over 650 hp....I personally have run over 1000 on mine, BUT ..the important point here is that I did it with an electronically controlled MAXX controller and Pulsoids (not solenoids) and Revos... all of which allow the extra Nitrous power to be fed in EXTREMELY SMOOTHLY... so no large torque hit.... and its torque that breaks things not hp...

All the best Brett

Hi Brad

Yes, I think so as Trev Langfield (owner of Wizards and a friend of mine) invented both the theory of Pulsoids and sold the first ones, although I hear one of the American companies has "copied" them to a degree...

Even though they copied them without the matching controller, they would be pretty useless to be honest.

Wizards do have some American agents though if you want some...

If you get any problems getting them I can always ring Trev and sort it out for you...

Brett, Would you be kind enough to make me a short list of essentials I should be looking for if I want to stay under 100HP. I am thinking a 10lbs tank in the spare tire area. I hope to just accumulate bits as I go to keep the cost low and so I do not have to buy everything at one time. I would love to supercharge but I do not know how I will get that one past my wife, but this sounds like a very cost effective bang for the buck alternative.

Hi

I can only give advice as if you were buying a Wizards of Nos system...

The reason is that it is the most modern system in the world (bar none) and a lot of the American systems are using 40 year old technology, which I know little about...

Sooo..if you were using a Wizards system you would need...

1 bottle ..minium size of around 10/11 lbs or twin 5 lb bottles..you could use smaller capacity bottles they do 2 lb, 1 lb and even smaller (usually for motorcycles) but a 928 has too large a capacity for them really unless you wanted "one shot" use only...

You need piping from the bottle to the solenoids or pulsoids...the american systems tend to use braided the UK systems use nylon, for various technical reasons nylon is better and braided is prettier lol.

You then need 2 solenoids (1 for fuel and 1 for Nitrous)
DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT A "DRY" SYSTEM FOR A 928 !
Dry means NO fuel solenoid....

Then some more pipe from the solenoids/pulsoids to the crossfire injector ...

1 arming switch ..preferably illuminated..mine is like a fighter pilots missile switch , that you flick up the protector then flick the switch to the on position, then to turn it off you only have to flick down the cover and it also closes the switch...

Then IF you can afford it a controller...

Also if you can afford it and intend to use the system in cold weather... 1 x heater blanket..

All the best Brett
