WOWW.. that shot is awesome ! That looks more Chiffon than white?

How strong is the fuel smell at the back? Is it obvious or just a hint? The reason I ask is the tank is vented and if you have a "super sniffer" as Gus does then that might be all you smell. My sense of smell is not that great but a friend of mine can smell the vent from a distance.

BUT...There are a few rubber hoses I would change just to be safe.

You're right, Dean...it IS Chiffon White...and for some reason, I was thinking the interior was a burgundy shade, but it's actually a cocoa color.

And I've found a wet spot on the pavement beneath the car, so I'm pretty sure the hoses have gone south...and fixing one just gives the others more reason/pressure to fail. Likewise, with brake hoses. I'm a card-carrying coward when it comes to pain, and being mangled or burned to death, although sure to satisfy the fantasies of the most demanding masochist, are not my preferred method of departure toward the pearly gates.

Congratulations. I am a 944 to 928 convert, myself.

I presently own an S4, and sometimes wish I had opted for an S2 or S3. Guess I will just have to add another to the collection.

Pics like yours always cause me to get on the internet and blow an hour searching for a Weissach or an old Euro.

Congrats on getting the car of your dreams, after you have lived with it, cursed at it, loved it you will come to find that you know own one of the best automobiles ever built now.

BTW, judging from that award you posted, it tells me a couple of things, and one of them is you are a old fart.

You should fit right in with the rest of us old farts.
We also have a run from Alco to SITM every year, you really should try and make that, you can hang out with the rest of us that value our lives at the back of the pack and let AO and Rudy clear a path for us, they did a fine job of it last year, they even got a driving award.
It was huge fun.

Nice...lets see some interior and motor shots too....Chiffon is one of those colors that I think is very nice. LOVE the phone dial wheels too.

Does your car have a sunroof? I just love the early non spoiler cars...they look so clean.

Yes, I'm an old bastidge, but the 928 is somehow like a time machine while I'm driving it...a very pretty lady in a yellow Boxster pulled alongside me, gave me a honk, a smile, and a friendly wave and thumbs-up. I was smiling for a half-hour afterwards. Probably a good thing for my health that I was alone, lol.

Would that driving award you mentioned involve a, uh, membership fee, lol??

I like the clean look myself...it's always reminded me (yeah, I'm a perv, lol) of the rear view of a pretty woman (especially the one in the Fiat Abarth commercial).

Yes, it has a sunroof, which is operational, no less. At 75 mph, rain just blows over it.

Hi Vonov and welcome. Really nice car. That paint looks brand new.

In addition to all the catch-up items you've listed, you also have to check the lower ball joint carriers. The older cars have aluminum ones, but Porsche upgraded them to steel. The aluminum ones tend to fail more often. Given the failure mode, a lot of the owners of the older cars changed them over already, but you should check. The older version is more a "figure 8" shape than the newer steel ones, and a magnet won't stick to it.

If you need new ones, its a pretty easy fix given that you've got some PB liquid wrench on hand and a breaker bar on hand. You'll need an alignment afterward, obviously.

They credit unused vacation/sick time towards the total. When I started as a patrol officer, they were calling roll...when they came to my name, a collective groan went up. I found out that there were six guys (and one woman!) on the detail with names which were variations on Bob or Robert. My family uses Tony, based on my middle name, so to simplify matters, I told them to use that. Even the local media calls me Tony now.
