What's it worth?
A customer of mine has a 1982 black/ black 5sp with 16k miles. It's a one owner car and it's never been serviced other than fluid changes. Original water pump and timing belt. The paint is all original and it good shape but it has a few bruises from his employees bumping it in his warehouse. It's got a leather dash that is perfect and the carpet is perfect but amazingly enough the seats have lost some of their pleating on the bottom. I'd prefer an S and this is not but after driving it I may be tempted.
It's been a very long time since I've driven a near new 928 and boy did it feel good.

A very nice 82 Kiln Red auto with only 5,800 miles sold a few weeks ago on ebay for $ 18,600.01. A 29,000 79, 5spd, no rub strips, no sunroof sold for approx $ 14,000 about a month ago, also on ebay. I would guess that your friends car would be worth approx $ 15,000 ? The seats in the 12,000 mile 79 I picked up from Tass a few months back also have lost some pleating on the front edge, and The PO for most of it's life was a smaller, older women. 77Tony

Saying this to you seems a little unnecessary, but I would say "not much", early US cars have no oomph, relatively speaking. It's just too far down on power. 85 and up or nothing. These cars do a lot with the horsepower they have but the early ones are even outnumbered by average sedans today.
That Boston euro is starting to look mighty cheap compared to the above numbers.

I hear you Tom but I may pick this up anyway while I continue to look for the right car. I'd like to fix the few things wrong and see it go to a good home. The owner is 78 and is thinking of trading it in on a new car. I'd hate to see what path that may lead.
