pulling flappy bearing sleeves
Well, many of my most difficult puzzles are a result of my own ineptitude. As it is here, with the flappy bearings ... all that's left of them are the sleeves, and I managed to get one out without damaging the intake. Of course the lower one is not budging. Either way the method that's working is the excellent.idea posted elsewhere to use a masonry bolt. I killed the first one, tomorrow I'll go buy another and hopefully get the lower sleeve out. Scuffed the ID a bit with a dremel and it helped a lot.

I used a cheap HF blind bearing puller. IIRC it was $30 but did the job in no time on all of the bearings. Are you also replacing the bearings in the throttle body? They are the same as the ones in the intake and are known to leak air as they wear out.

what Jerome said
Ive now done a number of intake refreshes and used a simple blind brg puller. Roger sells the 'double' Oring bearings for a better seal that I use on both the flappy and t.body.
Dwaynes intake mamoth write up demonstrates how he did it with some threaded rod, washers and nuts.

I have found that many times a bearing puller leaves the outer race, what I do when that happens is drop a washer that will just fit in the hole, use my MIG to put a couple of small dots of weld to just keep the washer in the outer race and use a small slide hammer to pull them out.
It sounds a lot more complex than it is, not much to it, really.

It is sure worth a try if you do not have a MIG.
I hear you can get a used MIG cheap on fleabay though. Just saying.
