I just did a quick write-up of my earlier removal of the flappy bearings from my '87's intake manifold.

Thread resurection, what size of anchor bolt do we use? I did this trick years ago but I can not remember the size.

 

Measure / OR take the bearing to the store and find the moly bolt that it slides through IIRC its 3/8

I ended up purchasing a puller kit per another thread on the topic but will grab a 3/8 as a backup.

 

The way to use the mole bolts is first use a pic and pry out the bearing inside the bearing housing. This will take out the race and the spacer and the O-rings once this is cleaned out. Get a heat gun and heat the area where around the bearing to warm it doesn’t have to be real hot just warm it so, maybe a little cooler than too hot to touch the bold from the inside and use a wrench to spread it fit on the inside of the bearing on the outside area through the opposite and out put the new bearings in the freezer and tap them back in you should only remove the bearing outer races after the part has been Powder Coat don’t do it before because Powder Coat could get into the hole and then you’ll be in a tough to try to get a bearing and a Powder Coated hole

 

I used a metric 10mm one. 3/8 is the closest SAE size which will work (9.5mm).

 

I ended up using the puller. Bearings are out.
