Thanks, but the reviews don't appear very positive.

Useless antenna, September 7, 2011

Bought this antenna for a small classic convertible. It was attached to a brand new stereo installed by a well known electronics store. Although the installer even placed the antenna on the dashboard it barely picks up any stations. Due to the fact that we already paid to have it professionally installed we are stuck with it and no real radio. Atleast the stereo has a CD player & ipod hook-up.

Randy, I would think a dashboard mount would defeat the purpose... it needs to be up and in the path of the radio waves. Satellite antenna is different, since the source is straight up. YMMV

I like the look of the shorter sportier antenna but I would not change mine at the possibility of less reception.
I might install neon lights though

Why did Porsche stop using the antennas in the front windscreen? It works great in my s3 and looks best IMHO.

2 of the 3 of reviews were positive. Add mine for 3 out of 4. Mine works great in the GTS. T

I needed a antenna for my boat radio and this item fit the bill. The price was right and it worked for my needs. After reading other reviews I did not hook-up the power to the unit....it works just fine with out it. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

Small enough to hide just about anywhere. I put mine inside my Fairing for my Motorcycle. The antenna that came with the Fairing radio was nothing more than a wire loop. This antenna was much better, picked up the local stations strongly. It is powered, so you will need to hook it up to a 12volt source.
e with out it.

Yes, saw those - but both are in fiberglass enclosures.

The one that was used in a car had bad results.

I like the shark fin idea. I think that would be hot.

...and it wasn't mounted in the 'line of sight' needed for radio waves. Are you really surprised?

Well, that sounds promising.

Any chance you have a pic showing the installation - inside/outside?

I'm concerned it may be a bit too obtrusive, but I'm willing to give it a shot to get AM reception back.

Thanks.

From the outside. If you are within let's say 4 feet, and really look for it through the tint ban along the top of the windshield, you can see it, but just barely. (The flash of the camera did bring it up a bit). At eyeline from the driver or pass seats, you do not see it. The interior pic below was taken a little lower than chest high pointing upwards. T

Not bad at all - thanks!

Was the cable that came with the antenna long enough by itself?

How is the AM reception?
