Default Quite unique 928 FS

I have a friend that I help occasionally with his car purchases. He has had this one for quite a while, and I really have always enjoyed when he brings it over.

He is now thinking that its time to sell it or another car in his stable, and since I am here, I may as well list it. I can get the VIN or any other info I don't exactly know in short time.

Its an 87S4 auto. Early VIN, with the flip wing as well as what I believe is a squirter block.

There is a racing seat in the driver's position, though if you REALLY needed a driver's seat I can source one.

The mileage is like 105,000 or so. I will get the exact number. It is a VERY strong motor.

The paint was indeed redone and is in very good shape exceptions being a few chips here and there - actually only a few.

The fenders you can see were done exceptionally well.

Work was done underneath as well - koni shocks, drop links, thicker sway bar. This is an area where it needs work. I'd say ball joints, alignment, some grease in some areas. Brakes would need new rotors and pads.

HID headlights (somehow)

I personally think the car is beautiful and well worth the required maintenance on the suspension and finding a driver's seat.

The price being mentioned here seems to be 12,000

Pretty car, but looks kinda odd with rounded rear fenders.

So I'm guessing from the description that the rear fenders aren't steel/factory?

There was a factory fender option with the round arch like that - a search here on Rennlist for "XC1" will show pictures, although cars have been found that don't list the option code in PET7 but do have the factory arches.

edit: here's a pic from another thread of the factory round arch:

They are welded in aluminum and I think it may have been done in malaysia or something like that. I think it looks very pretty. I think the squared off stock rear fenders are the only real style downfall of the stock cars.

I never noticed the rear fenders until it was pointed out. Just a different style to me, old vs new or slightly different.

GLWS, Nice car

Really nice car but if the car is from Aisa, why the US fenders?

Not from Asia at all. For some reason it was there... I'm getting some questions on that so I need to clarify with the owner.

Welded aluminum to the stock steel?... that's odd and a definite point of failure due to dissimilar metals in the long run. Was this 928 at sharktoberfest last year?

That does sound strange. Hmmm. I'm actually texting him and asking him to go put a damn magnet on the fender for clarification.

Whatever the fenders are actually made of, they are done perfectly and it has no visible transition.

And it was done in Korea because the owner was a guy who went over there and brought his car for a time.

Just did the carfax - shows it was in Hawaii and then comes back into the US under a customs entry from Korea. Seems to make sense with the story.

Where is the car located? And do you have a picture of the racing seat?
