5-speed TT drive-shaft WANTED
If you have a spare 5-speed driveshaft, PM with a price....shipped to 73104
I only want the inner long shaft, not the whole torque tube. The Early 78-80 is approximately 59" (1498 mm) long end-to-end and the 80-95 is 57.8" (1468 mm)
long end-to-end.

Do the splines need to be good? Used ones with good splines are getting hard to come by.

Mark,
From our discussions, I believe what XSchop needs most is an early (78-80) 928 5 speed drive shaft with good splines.
We don't have any early ones as was the case with our Australian customer when we just made him a new one.
XSchop can answer for himself if I got it wrong.

The Early (longer by 30mm) shaft and the 928 front shaft (intermediate) is perfect for the 944 TT when the coupler is lengthened by 5" which is what needs to be done to move the front shaft back 6" to clear the LS clutch and concentric throwout bearing since the C5 2-piece BH is only 5.80" deep. There is already about 1" between front shaft and rear shaft when factory coupler is used. The long-shaft spline base will have to be machined back another 3-4 inches (just like the factory did) and re-hardened.
