Default wrap headers?

I just got a used set of MSDS headers for my 928.

curious if I should wrap them to help keep down heat in the engine bay?

thoughts?

Wrap either provides a sponge for oil or water, so eventually they catch fire or rust through, your choice.

Send 'em off to JetHot to have them thermal coated- I did 'extreme sterling' on my stock manifolds:

Alternatively, I had my GB headers done inside and out in ceramic coating by Embee coatings here in Santa Ana, CA. 'Bout the same price as Jet-Hot was just for the exhaust manifolds.

Wrap is not necessary. It will only shorten their life. Get them ceramic coated. They will last as long as the car.

wrap is old school. it will cook the headers. ceramic coating is the way to go. plus it look cool.

thanks for the replies. was not sure if headers would cause too much heat w/out wrapping.

IMO the best header coating = Swain Technologies White Lightning.
