As some of you may have noticed, I am selling my Gran Prix White / Black Leather 86.5 5-speed. I have owned this car for 12 years, and it was my daily driver, so it has been maintained for reliability.
Check out the Rennlist Ad in my signature, below. I have updated the pictures after fixing a bunch of little things, adding black 944 Phone Dials and cleaning her up. Looks good!
Price remains the same for Rennlisters, and I will be posting in local Craigslist, and have it on display locally. I know it is a terrible time to try to sell, but this is when I could get around to it. I am hoping it goes to a fellow 928 enthusiast.

Thank you, Jim. Only concern I have with this combo is the front tires. Maybe more of a concern for me because I like a low ride height.
I am (slowly) going through the available tire sizes from Tire Rack, to see what I have to work with. The rim itself does not cross past the plane of the fender, but if the suspension compresses all the way, I believe the 225 tires will. No problem thus far, but I don't want to have to worry about it.
Here is my worksheet. Still have a lot of tire sizes to go through!

Yes, it is a good price. I have not looked at December's Excellence, but the 86's are usually valued around $10-12K, with a $1K bonus for the 5-speed. And this is an 86.5, so it has the S4 brake upgrade and true dual exhaust (with GT resonators added to boot
)
However,
1) I know there are areas I would want to address (see my Rennlist Ad) as an owner and enthusiast.
But also, 2) This is a great enthusiast community that I plan to stick around with, and it has been a great community for me to learn about these cars (on PorscheFans since 1997, before I even bought this one).
Everything I did to keep this car well maintained, and most recently to make the car so presentable, were things I learned here (fixing front slats, 944 Phone Dial combo, hood padding, Magic Blower Syndrome, etc., etc., etc.).
I also need to focus on the silver car, and really don't have the time (nor room) for both. Before the silver car became available, I was going to finish restoring this car, taking it from a great car to a wonderfully excellent car. I want someone else to have that opportunity.
I believe (somewhat biasly) that an 86.5 is well worth every effort put into it. It has been a very rewarding (and therapeutic) car for me.
Hmmm, this is feeding that part of me that tends to re-think this - maybe I need to go find a barn. One of the step-daughters wants a horse... yes, that might work out quite well!

Darn Carlos, it seems like a sin to sell such a beautiful car for such a low price. Daily driver for 7 years speaks volumes to me. I just sold my 8 year DD and bought my current 86.5. If I ever get the engine back in the car, I hope to drive it for the next 20. GLWS...

Bump - car is still available.
An interested buyer had me take pictures of the timing belt, and we found that the timing belt is not sitting in the middle of the timing gears, so it will need a timing belt change sooner rather than later. Those pictures will be added to the Rennlist ad pictures (Edit: pictures added to Rennlist Ad).

Bump - car is still available!
I am motivated - Insurance and Tag are coming due, again!
Priced as is because I know it needs a Timing Belt service, sooner rather than later.
This is a great way for someone to get into an 86.5 5-Speed! It has been very reliable as my daily driver.

Proton_Ice, It is reliable enough to drive to Canada. However, I did not like what I saw through the vent tubes as to where the timing belt sits on the passenger side gear. However, from experience with this car, when the timing belt starts to get loose, the light comes on and I had plenty of time to get it serviced. If you are not comfortable with that, we can work something out where the timing belt gets done before the trip - I already have quotes with and without the water pump.
