Oh my God, excuse me being ever so slightly rude, which part of my original post did you not understand?

I just checked with Porsche UK and they happily told me there are more than 16 new non-sunroof skins in Germany. Yours for £165 + 20% VAT. I get a discount, so slightly less for me...

Had the same problem of lack of headroom.

I replaced the sunroof and its mechanism with a custom-made, fixed moonroof. Recommendable but not inexpensive (the custom-made moonroof).

Every now and then Roger is wrong. It happens... Do you want me to try and get you a non-sunroof skin?

Is this the Midnight Blue car that was on the market not that long ago?

Pics will be great. Can you take a few extra of the headliner as I have implemented the factory sunroof delete on my car and am curious how the headliner looks / is attached.

Thanks Michael!

I know this as I bought one from them and installed it on my race car.

Unfortunately it is a bit more complicated for a street car. You will need someone who is good at tidying up bodywork. There is a heck of a lot of rails and bracing which needs to be cut out from the inside. It is doable though. Also, you will need to find a headliner, which is sadly NLA...
Race car it seems like a dandy option. Not just that you don't need to be REAL tidy, but if the rollcage goes in before the old roof is completely removed it should help a lot keeping the body square until the new roof is welded in.

From a DIY perspective, I wonder if the roof from an early car where you cut the spot welds on both cars might have some advantage? Or would the spot welds not exactly match up?

Trying hard not to think about that 5 spd sunroof delete GTS.

The non-sunroof panel is non structural - it is so thin you can actually bend it by hand. The bracing inside is non-structural either - it really is there to support the sunroof panel and not brace the body of the car. My bodywork guys rated it as a 5/10 job in terms of difficulty. They hated welding the new panel in because of the extremely poisonous zinc fumes...

A non-sunroof 5spd GTS sounds very dandy indeed. There is midnight blue 1994 one being turned into a race car in the UK at the moment....

That'll be WP0ZZZ92ZRS800523 then. There is (was?) only one no-sunroof 5-speed GTS in the UK.

No idea, all this VIN malarky has always puzzled me...

It belongs to a stupidly rich guy who owns a genuine GT40, a 1970 AM Vantage racer, Alfa Romeo 8C and an AMG SLS amongst other things. He commissioned Paul Anderson to do a full rebuilt and ground up conversion into a race car. The real shame is that it would probably never turn a wheel in anger and only get tracked once or twice a year...
