Default 1980 instrument cluster in 1982

I have an 82 US 928 5 speed without an instrument cluster. Will a 1980 US instrument cluster from an automatic work in the 82? Are the plugs for wiring the same? Joe

Joe,
I think they are different. The 82 stuff is hard to find. I might have some stuff in my garage, but I know It's not complete. If you are interested, I'll take a look and see what I have lying around.

Joe,

I have a spare '80 5-speed cluster at home. I will be able to check in a few days if the plugs are different. I can't remember if it was 1982 or 1984 that the plugs changed (thinking 1984...)

I replaced the printed circuit board in 1998 with a brand new one. The speedometer works but the odometer is missing a gear.

Cheers!
Carl

I think 82-84 are different from the others.

That's ok if it's in German. Just as long as I can get the car running. Thanks everyone!

Thank you for the offer Ray, but Bob sent some pictures of the one that he has and the ribbon contacts appear to be in better shape. Thank you everyone for your help. Joe
