Thanks so much NoVector. Perfect.

Thanks to others also for info and support. I would not be able to restore my 928, being so poor and all, without your help.

Is this a difficult thing to trace and fix? Or is this something entirely different.

Mucho Gracias.
Read your Owner's Manual, noob.

Default Hehe!!

The little red locking lbutton!! I think I only actually saw it lit once while I pushed my car 4 blocks to it's new home... It's in a box in the crawlspace waiting for reinstallation.

I need to download that owners manual so I can read how to re-install the interior now!

Okay, that's it, now I am insulted.

I'm selling the 928 for a few K and buying a..... well....ah.......I could get a 1995 used Honda Civic DX (probably has an owners manual and manual roll up windows) or a down payment on a used VW Beetle with an owners manual and a flower on the dash or buy a Chevy Astro Van (a real classic also with an owners manual) and have most of the cash left over.....these are all good handling, touring vehicles and sooooooo cool , right?

Owners manual??? I don't have one either. You can't maintain a 27 year old car with an owners manual? You maintain it with perseverence and forums like this.... That don't mock someone attempting to save an old porsche...
This fourm is full of information and a hate of neglected / hacked 928's. A 27 year old car needs a steady stream of funding or at least mine does, so in my head I equate "poor owner" with a soon to be neglected car. Sorry didn't mean to throw a stone.

No harm done here. "Poor owner" is just a term. Poor in money rich in love.

I imagine there is every type of 928 owner out there. Life is a fantastic journey and right now I am on a 928 ride. Some of my friends have money and some have a little while others have less. I have been in all categories depending on the decade.

To change subjects, I have a tremendous respect for this Lady and the love she has for her car.

Nice vid...

Back on subject what is that button supposed to do anyway?? Since I've never seen mine operate... nor could I open the drivers door from the inside, or lock the doors, or roll down the windows for that matter!!

I did however get to reset the trip meter once. That was cool!!! I figured it was broke too!

It’s pure shame I feel that my 928 brethren fail to divulge this pertinent information, shame I say, shame!

They are not telling the whole truth, yes it is true this particular information is lightly covered in the very back of the owner manual in very, very fine print and seeing you and your friend’s copies were absconded, I will let you in on this very important information that others here will not!

That red flashy key looking thingy is its expiration warning. When it flashes you must call an auto transporter for an immediate pickup and delivery to Houston Texas for proper disposal (pay the required bill, no COD and leave pink slip in glove box). Should you decide to ignore this warning you could face inflated repair bills, sleepless nights, a large collection of tools and dirty finger nails.

P.S. Whatever James says, do not route any deliveries through Austin Texas as we all know what happens to 928 cars that do!
