It is a beautiful system.
Or, you can buy an S1/S2 (car) with factory exhaust for the same investment...

Not really, but....

3" for 16V? If its single, maybe. Or it's primary existence is 3,800 rpm and up...HP v. TQ, that whole intended use dynamic comes into play.

Yes, running a well built single 3" exhaust on a stock 16v will reduce torque but will gain horsepower up top. If you get a sharp, pinch bent 3" there may still be enough restriction to keep your torque but then why bother? Most people (core market) don't want to lose the torque but want more top end. The Borla system with one of our "Y"s works great for that if you can find one. Noise control on the single 3" was a consideration also, very "boomy" sounding. I loved it but I am not into really quiet exhausts.

I did one custom 85' with our 2.5" duals and it was awesome...until the customer's garage burnt down around it. I want that exhaust back!

True- the only change that would be req'd would be solution for the rear muffler/fascia, right?
There is imagery of a mufflex solution with a simple magnaflow on someone else's car.
Found/attached.

And, no garage, but purportedly a Louis Ott combustion cameo...
