I am saying that because of the technology differences in the eras. Let's also not forget the sucker has variable valve timing and a very well engineered induction system. Nissan brags that their ram air setup on the car produces 3 HP at 60 MPH.

A stock '08 350Z is 306hp at the crank. My old '86 US 928 could very slowly walk them. Where is this 400rwhp 350Z? I would think it would require substantial modifications to add 175 crank hp to a normally aspirated car.

Way to back pedal and avoid the question Mongo You might just have a career in politics after all.

Who is backpedaling? I am entitled to add to my post; and who says I am not considering politics later?

how does that little noisy French 3.5 liter 6 banger get 405rwhp with only a chip and some exhaust mods!!
fixed... and its probably a turbo or blower kit too... I seriously doubt its N/A with that power even with a crazy big cam in there

They really are not a heck of a lot quicker. My buddy's Nismo package Z had me by only 3/4 of a car length on a straightaway. Let's not forget my car is a Rogerbox too.

hha ha ha ha. dont they knwo that the total ram pressure at 160mph is less than .36psi with the most efficient ram scoop known to man!

you dont get 3hp at 60mph, unless the intake you had before hand was very restrictive.

375rwhp out of a 6.4 liter S4 engine with minimal mods and 405rwhp out of a 3.5 liter with the same mods. both NA!
Source? Very unlikely anyone's getting 100 (150)HP from a chip and an exhaust. I owned a 350Z for a couple of years. Fun car, but I never heard of those kind of gains without some form of forced induction.

There is a guy in my office with a stack of superstreet magazines that is a car guy . with the 350z with the mods that give him 405rwhp. sounds like i might want to call him on it, huh!!

I cant imagine a 3.5 liter making that kind of HP, even though they were rated at 305 crank. the race car tha had the bigger motor was 3.7 liter and still only had 350flywheel. Ill have to ask my buddy who built two of them for Grand Am and see what they got.. none of the grand am cars made over 320rwhp, and they were pretty tricked out.

One of the guys I raced with this year ran a 350z we were pretty even but he could out motor me on the straight. Makes sense now I never realized they could make that kind of power. Just thought he was getting off the corners better.

Hey MK, why not get a set of my cars and drop them into your motor and break the 400rwhp mark.......

Kibort, you guy is talking out of his ****... We got plenty of these over here - cheap Jap RHD imports. My Z4MC walks away from them with ease, my E61 M5 does not even bother and if it does I feel like the school bully, and my 928 with a 370whp 5.4 lump was in a different country by the time the 350 got going... Low horsepower and heavy weight don't make a fast car in my book.

Default noo

venturis...

Turbos are a nice luxury that way...chip to fatten fuel and add a couple lbs of boost..well, heck it puts my 5 cyl 2.3L commuter-mobile around 280 HP and up over 300 TQ right-quick.

I still hate it.
