Default Jack Stand Pins

Hi all,

I searched but couldn’t find it ….. but, I seem to recall someone adding “lift pad hole engagement pins” to their jack stands.

Something like this but only attached to the jack stand.

Anyone remember that post and where I might find it?

Thanks, Denny

I don't think that is the one I originally saw but definitely looks good.

I'd like a set of Liftbars but can't justify the cost.

I think I'll build a set of these.

Thanks a bunch.

I put those pins on my made at home lift bars. 928's and bolsters share the same distance pin to pin I found out while doing a friend's water pump

Yep, the one's in Ed's link are mine. I had a local welding shop fabricate them for me several years ago. I've also got the lift bars. For changing the oil, I just use a ramp with long extensions to clear the front spoiler, then lift the rear to level the car. I'd love to get a lift though.

Thanks for the idea Bill. Here are mine. Made at no cost out of scrap from work. Haven't had the car on them yet though.

You might have been thinking about this thread. Or one of several on Rennlist about these stands. I've used them on a 911 and 944. They should work on a 928.

What I have used is the auxiliary jack mount kit from 928 Motorsports, but did not make it a permanent installation. Used that on top of my jack and know approx where it goes and the jack lifts the whole side up. Put the jack stands under the regular jacking points and do the other side. It is easy and is much cheaper than the lift bars.
Hope that helps.

That is a good idea, thanks. I'll make some of those too! Only thing is, you need to go side to side a few times to reach hight.

I jack like this:

On the front, I put these in on both sides:

That gives enough room to reach the front cross member with the floor jack.

On the rear, I can reach the cross member without "pre-jacking". Or, you could do same as front.

Depami,
I do one side all the way, then slowly retract the jack. When I do the other side I stop every other stroke, so that the jack has time to repostion itself (move due to it's wheels) and I check that the stands are still evenly on the floor. And I can get the other side up in one go also.

OK, fair enough. But that scares the heck out of me even at 16". I can't imagine it at 22". And yes, I like it that high for many jobs. I am even nervous with 22 in one lift going front / rear. Sometime I do 2 lifts.

Those are some nice Jack Stand adapters. Nice job.

I do offer floor jack adapters here that are quite popular:

and the 928 Frame Jack Points that Bilal spoke about are here:
