The funny thing is , Greg, that I would not be saying anything different in person from anything I have said on this forum. The difference, as you suggest, is that when it is said in person, it would be said with a nice smile, and it would go across much differently than it seems to be going across here. The problem is that you cannot see my smile every time I have something to say, even when it is firmly opposed to what you and the other members of the "old guard" would like to hear.
And, I hope you would win the bet.

Jerry,
Looking forward to meeting you at 3rd Coast. Nothing good can come from going back and forth here at this point. Agree to disagree until you build it.
I hope it works out, and you indeed have found a way to save thousands no matter how unlikely.

Greg one of the "old guard"???...hell, I thought he was a "newb" :-) ....crap, if he is now one of the "old guard"..I guess that puts the guys like me in the "dinosaurs" or "ole timers" category,.... dang it, I hate it when that happens!!

Gentlemen, gentlemen...
Can't we all just get along?
I mean what's the goal here?
German (the OP) is trying to break some ground here. He's building a stroker with sleeved cylinders, a custom top end and one-off intake design. He's posted on here asking for help.
Instead of trying to do that (or I guess in addition to) we've got a couple of people in a pissing contest and a bunch of other guys standing in a circle on the playground yelling, 'FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!'
I guess it's a slow week here.
German, I think you've gotten responses from all the people who plan to contribute. I hope you were able to form an opinion and come up with a plan.
I want my last 30 minutes back.

Let me ask a simple question:
Is there anyone, on this forum, besides Marc (who, in my opinion, is trying to rationalize that he was using the correct parts, even though so many of his engines failed after very few miles) and Jerry (who, in my opinion, hasn't been close enough to building a 928 engine to know what tools he is going to need....much less understanding anything about "rod offset") that doesn't completely understand the problem with running an totally incorrect offset Chevy connecting rod in a 928 engine?
I can certainly post some of the important data that I/Carrillo "learned" from the research into this problem, but I no longer consider it my personal job to educate everyone about how to build these engines....so I've been wondering if I really need to do that.
Anyone?

Your work speaks for itself Greg, no need for you to educate myself or any one else on how to do this.

Greg, Understand but I would love a good read.
I like tech info because sometimes what we talk about helps me understand some of our issues with the equipment up here in the oil sands.
You could always send me some of your and Carrillo doc to my e-mail.
I am sure I can guess what it says but I am also sure some of the data will suprise me.

At this point you have offered nothing to substantiate your thory; and the viewers have heard what I have to say about this, so I am sure they can now make up their own minds about what might really be required in regard to the offset. Your theory will help you sell the high dollar rods and mine will get me nothing because I am not selling Chevy rods.

Of course, to be able to do that, I have to order many sets of rods, so my money is tied up in inventory, for months at a time...but it's all worth it, due to that whopping profit margin of about 10% gross.
Jerry...Seriously....You've insulted me in just about every way a person can insult someone.
Is it possible that I might know womething that Marc Thomas and you don't know/refuse to accept about the 928 Stroker Engine?
Keep in mind that 100% of all the crankshafts that I've had made are running....except for the ones that are not in engines, at this time.
One hundred percent.

My respect for Greg Brown, and Precision Motorwerks, has grown immensely with how he has handled this troll. Greg!!
Everything I can read up on, all over the Internet, Chevy, Alfa, whatever ... Wikipedia ... it all says categorically that the conrod MUST be centred on the piston wrist pin. Offset or no, NO OFFSET is acceptable as shown in the first pic, posted by the Original Poster in his question.
