Oh I am not doing seats these days. It is body work that is consuming my time. Hopefully by spring I will be back to interiors. I am looking into making some new window guides though - maybe out of aluminum instead of plastic. Maybe with some embedded ball bearings and a spring.

I got some time tonight to pull the passenger seat out and look around underneath. I don't see any other plugs, so I don't think it's wired for both memory and non-memory. In the cluster of wires going to the memory plug, there's a fairly thick brown wire that should be the ground, and an equally thick red and yellow wire, that I'm hoping is constant power, but I haven't checked it yet. I won't have any time for a couple more days to dig deeper, but looks like I'll be cutting some wires when I get to it, or maybe I can pull the power wires out of the socket, with pins, and make some jumpers with female sockets on each end to hook up to the non-memory seat.

on the memory seat, the harness is part of the board and terminates in a 13 pin plug.
On the standard seats, there is a separate connection harness between the seat and the car. The side connecting to the seat has an 8 pin connector block and the side for the car is the same 13 pin block found on the memory seats.

So, yes, both versions are direct plug in to the car. You seem to be missing the connection harness on your non-memory seats.

I am out of the country right now, but should be back at the shop late next week. If you can wait that long, just drop me an email and I will get you the parts you need.

Thanks for the info. If I understand right, the 13 pin connector on the car side, can plug into either the 13 pin connector on a memory seat, or the 8 pin (I think only 4 are used) connector on a standard seat? That would be great news.

I don't think I'm missing any parts, the memory seat is coming out, and the standard seat is complete, but thanks for the parts offer.

on the non-memory seats, there is a short harness (about a foot) that connects the seat with the car. On one end, there is a 8 pin connector block that mates to a female block that is part of the seat harness. On the other end of that short harness is the 13 pin connector that mates to the plug on the car.

That little harness often gets lost. People don't really know if it should remain with the seat or the car.

If you have that, then you are good to go. If not, they are available new through Roger, and I might even have one good used one.

I think I got it now, and yes, that short harness did not come with the seats. Luckily I had some male/female connectors that fit the pins well so I made a couple of jumper wires to take the constant power from the car to the 4 pins of the standard seat. I had to open up the 15 pin plug on the car and pull out the two power wires to connect the jumpers, but didn't have to cut any wires which was good. It works perfectly.

Thanks to all for the advice, one more pre-Marble Falls task checked off. The only big tasks left are front brake pads, and passenger fendor replacment...

So if someone had a MEMORY seat and wished to make it a NON memory seat, they would just power the seat with the 4 pin connector - BUT -

what if the memory seat was having issues with the ridiculously needlessly complex memory board under the seat and IT was making the seat not move?

Can you make the seat work WITHOUT the memory board plugged into the *13* freaking plugs? Seriously? Why don't you just run the seat on nuclear energy.

The only thing other than the board that wasn't working was my eyes. I found the break on the traces and fixed that. It seems to be working now on the bench.
