Default Anyone selling rebuilt radiators?

On inspection my 928 seems to have developed the notoriious leak-at-the-top-of-the-end tank and I'm looking at options.

The most obvious and attractive option is the 928 Motorsports version since it's cheaper than the OEM and seems to be very good. But after reading through a bunch of posts from SEARCHing it looks like some owners have had relatively minor fitment issues requiring minimal cutting and/orgrinding that seems to be hit or miss due in part to the thickness of the core/endtanks. Some owners have reported no issues.

I'm no stranger to cutting and fabbing on my project cars, but with the 928 being a daily driver I really want something that truely will drop in with little or no issues or surprises.

I ran across a few posts by guys that replaced their end tanks and seals but really want something that can be swaped out. That would let me repair the old Behr at my leisure.

So - Are there any vendors out there that are selling "rebuilt" behr units with new end tanks and seals already installed? If not I may go the 928MS route, albeit with reservations regarding fitment.

BTW - 1984 US model 5 speed with no extra coolers on right or left endtank (if it matters).

Chris,
Mark at 928 International also sells a very nice replacement rad.
If you need just the end tanks I sell those for $75.

I installed the 928 MS radiator on my 87S4 DD, no issues after cutting the tabs for the earlier fan off.
It is a beautifully built radiator. I chose this route, have yet to rebuild my Behr.

Last Austin gathering MArk had mentioned he found an off the shelf radiator option and installed in one of his cars. Mark?

1. Buy a new end tank from Roger.
2. Follow the steps outlined in this post: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...king-tabs.html
3. Ignore the second photo in that post. I have no idea how it got there. I don't even have that image stored anywhere on my computer.
4. You can do this in less than an hour once the radiator is out.

So you use the Killzone game for a precision spacer I take it.

I just took off my tanks using JHowell's method and it works! Took me about 20 mins to get both off without harming the tabs.

+1 on the end tank replacement. It's not a hard job and that write-up is a great one to follow.

I did mine a little differently. Instead of a set of bar clamps I used cargo straps and put wedges under them to apply pressure on the ends. The vice grip technique for tightening the taps down to a fixed tightness is key.

I also built a test jig to make sure it was going to hold water by cutting a bike inner tube and clamping one end on the 'in' and one on the 'out' from the radiator, plugged the overflow and put the cap on and just used the schrader valve to inflate the tube and pressurize (a bit) the radiator. Submerge it in a baby pool or spray it with soapy water and look for bubbles.

On your rebuilt radiators, are both tanks replaced?

Would we have to get a used cooler thing from Anderson and then get the end tanks to work with that? Lets say we have a used no-cooler unit we would like to convert.

Coolers are not available separately as far as I know so Mark is your best bet on that.

The tanks come complete with the gasket and the O rings for those with cooler holes.

Make sure any coolers you get also come with the hardware to attach the cooler to the end tank. The 4 washers and nuts you need aren't something you're going to come across at the local hardware store.

Thanks Rog but we do not sell used coolers as we need all that we can get our hands on.
