Valvoline Duragear 75W/90 in the GTS and it shifts fine.
Castrol Transmax 75W/90in the 82S after some experimentation and it gives the best synchro performance ... rebuilt new synchro box.
Now I'll try voting twice!
Edit: It won't let me ... voted Valvoline and still need to vote Castrol.

I tried Redline in my Beemer gearbox and has almost ruined my syncho's. I went back to Castrol. In this case Castrol Syntrans. It's smooth like butter now. I'll change the bad quality Redline in my 928 as soon as possible. I personally hate the stuff. Anybody wants Redline gearbox oil with only a few 100 km's done on it? up for grabs!
So my vote goes to Castrol!

I've tested Royal Purple, Redline, Mobile 1, Swepco....and a few others in my 928's and my fathers Ferrari.
I'm sticking with Redline for everything and Royal Purple as a runner up.
The Corvette racing team I'm on we use RP.

Redline 75W-90NS for us in the track car. Noticeably improved shifting over Mobilube 75W-90 as well as Mobil 1 75W-90 (not sure of the difference in those two) when the trans was working at high temps. Trans did not have LSD, still debating on what cocktail to use once I get the new trans installed with LSD.

My '82 was getting pretty notchy going into 2nd. Tried Mobil 1 - no help. Next tried Swepco - based on Devek's recommendation - made the car almost undriveable. Finally switched to Red Line 75W-90NS - ahh, nirvana (well it shifts better anyway).
MB, just emailed Red Line for their recommendations for my '89 with limited slip. Their rep recommended straight Red Line 75W-90NS (which he says contains a small amount of friction modifier). If you are still getting "chatter," then you can add 1 to 1 1/2% friction modifier (which is about an ounce).
Straight 75W-90NS cured the chatter in my dif.
By the way, the last time (12/10) I bought Red Line gear oil it was $8.25/quart. Now it's $14/quart at the same distributor.

I put straight Red Line 75W-90NS in my limited slip 5-speed and got chatter - added a bit of the friction modifier and all is well....with the limited slip - I have bad synchros, and the Red Line helped them a bit.

Former Vendor
I used and loved Kendall 75-90 before it got really hard to obtain. Now I use Mobil 1. As I mentioned at Sharktoberfest, I've had a few customers use Redline in their new gearboxes and the seals leak. Changing to Mobil 1 cured these leaks. Perhaps after the seals break-in Redline would not leak?

No leaking on my '82 after about 40k miles. Just added to my '89, so we'll see....
Of course these are not new boxes.
