Default Norcal Lemons racing TOMORROW!!!!

UPDATE

The Norcal lemons race 928 "Estate" is moving along..... Wheels are here at the super bargin price of only $99 each....the tires showed up today...8 Cooper Zeon 2XS in 265/35-18 for a truely Lemons worthy price of 0.00....

I also scored a bunch of Pirelli Slicks in 275/645-18 for crazy cheap too....got 9 total..enough for Rick and I to "real" race on for a season or more.... Came off World Challenge GT3's....with a list price of $455 per tire....I paid barely more that for all 9!!!!!!!!

Finally is a pic of the wheels we are now using...TR Motorsports 18x10's....between Rick and I we have 14 of them....

Don't you need to make those wheels look ugly? I would think noce shiny wheels would be a red flag.
Let me know if you like those Pirelli's I have a bunch more.

VERY interesting.....from what I have heard the Pirellis are NOT as good as the Yoko's that you typically run.....maybe 1+ seconds per lap slower....but given the price-availability and my LOW power...I'm sure they are much better than the 245/45-16 Toyo RA1's I am running now

BIG wheels-tires a HUGE red flag in lemons....however wheels-tires are FREE and do not count towards budget...since our new driver Ken delivered the hook up with free tires...why not go for it!!! In theory the judges can't look at big wheels tires and dock you for it...BUT the other competitors WILL...

Which brings ups our killer THEME.... generally speaking any team that gives out free stuff is safe...some teams give out coffee, burgers, pizza, snow cones (in summer).....we will take this to a whole new level...we will give out "PRESCRIPTIONS"....which are 50ml bottles of Jagermeister.....

I am confident that my theory of free booze will pay off nicely....I just order 100 of them.....

Its a bummer you can't drive for us..

However I hope we will be racing again...possibly in March?

ONE MORE WEEK! *Please read the whole message*

And as the Krankenwagen crew chief, I have a few duties.

1) Keep the drivers heads in the game...no helmet fires..a common failing of trying to take Lemons seriously.
2) Cheating
3) The Nurses (Photos at end)
4) Supplies

#1..easy, we WILL have a team huddle before the first driver hits the track for T&T.
#2..I want ideas damnit.
#3..Im interviewing them *cough* as I can.
#4..Supplies..the list of safety equipment required:
  • Fuel (150 gallons of 91, at track prices)
  • Alcohol
  • Food
  • Ibuprofen (Costco 500ct bottle)
  • Sodas (To wash down the alcohol backwash Sunday morning)
  • Bribes (The only way out of judicial problems)

I have set up a Paypal account for the Krankenwagen 928 Race Team..to help cover these costs.

>>PAYPAL LINK<<

Brian has serious bank into this, and were doin what we can, but hey..we're a community here too!

It's taken years to get the Estate back on the track with Lemons..because "It cant possibly be a $500 car"..but Brian's worked with the officials very well, and we made it in. But..even with free tires from a sponsor, 'taint cheap.

Please consider this a polite RL call-out for donations, and help us keep Brian married and breathing thru his nose once the bills sink in at home after the race.

The link above gets you there, but the direct PayPal Email address is:

krankenwagen@speedtoys.com

100% of this goes to the entry and race costs, and anything left over rolls into the -next- event.

Thanks..for listening.

It was a LONG day today....I'm glad Sean came in a day early to help get ready....we found SO many things that needed attention, but all is well now!

Testing starts bright and (too) early tomorrow....to get the car dialed.....everyone else is arriving at various times tomorrow......

The Denver 928 team, complete with their "Pinata" theme (it looks super cool) is here and will be pitting with us on row #3 (west side)......

If you are thinking about stopping by, Friday is free...but there is entry fee's on Sat-Sunday....

today went GREAT.....the Krankenwagen theme with Naughty Nurses was a HUGE hit.....we managed to get through "inspection" with ZERO laps....which is GREAT.....

Now its up to the Estate to be reliable and the drivers to stay penalty free......

First person to find photo evidence of the naughtiest nurse in BS tech, wins...nothing, except RL's never ending admiration.

I'll let Brian or Jeff write the report. It was a good day other than a faulty fuel pump that cost about 25 laps.
